There are times throughout the year that a student may need to seek extra support for the many issues that may arise.
As your guidance contacts are there for you to set up an appointment to discuss these issues. Some of the reasons you may need to speak to a guidance counsellor might include:

o organization
o friend issues/teacher issues/classmate issues
o home issues
o social issues
o transition to grade 9
o information about community agencies
o job information/career investigating
o emergencies
2. If an issue is urgent, please see us right away (let your teacher know you are coming to see us so your teacher knows where you are).
3. If you need to discuss something that is not urgent, make an appointment with one of us “Can I talk to you?…”
4. Confidentiality– all visits are confidential with some exceptions
o if you disclose that you are being abused in any way, there are procedures we must follow by law
o if the issue is out of our expertise/comfort zone, we will try to refer you to the appropriate counselor to deal with the issue.
